Glen Grant 25 Year Old 1998 (cask 17784) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

This 25-year-old single cask Scotch whisky from Glen Grant was distilled back in 1998 and then matured in a refill barrel that yielded 193 bottles for Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular (XOP) range. It was presented at a cask strength 54.1% ABV without colouring or chill filtration.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

    Nose

Opens in a robust archetypal Speyside style with hues of citrus fruit plus mixed unsalted nuts, barley, and later autumnal fruit.

    Palate

Subtle oak on the palate as it opens, now with a little cheek- puckering saltiness, ahead of butterscotch, cherry and marzipan flavours, dusted with icing sugar

    Finish

A finish carrying more macerated, red fruit mixed amongst attractive cereal and spices.
