Glen Garioch 16 Year Old 2008 (cask HL21389) - The First Editions (Hunter Laing)
Indie bottler Hunter Laing released this Glen Garioch single malt as part of The First Editions collection in 2024. Distilled in 2008, the whisky enjoyed a 16-year stay in a single wine cask before bottling, bringing layers of dark chocolate and berries to join biscuity malt and drying oaken spice at its core. A release of 269 cask-strength bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Pine oil, fragrant woody spice, floral vanilla, and a touch of green tea.
Palate
Drying, with layers of cacao and oak char, joined by dark cherry chocolate, and a touch of warming pepper.
Finish
Stewed berries, rich oak, and warming spices.
