Glen Elgin 44 Year Old 1975 - Old & Rare Platinum (Hunter Laing)
A 44 year old single malt distilled by Glen Elgin here, independently bottled by those wonderful Hunter Laing folks. This one was placed into a single cask back in 1975, and said cask was cracked open in 2019, when the whisky was bottled for the Old & Rare Platinum range, with an outturn of 173 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Producer
This dark gold whisky has a nose of candlewax, marzipan, nougat, and manuka honey. The palate has notes of milk chocolate, orchard fruits, honeydew and orange zest. The finish is long, with notes of vanilla and a drying touch of oak.
