Indie Glen Elgin single malt, drawn from a pair of bourbon barrels which were home to the whisky for 26 years! The chaps at Glen Elgin filled up those barrels in November 1990 and set them aside to mature for 26 years. In April 2017, Signatory bottled the whisky for their Cask Strength Collection with an outturn of 366 bottles.
Rum-like spices arrive first, followed by honey and toasted almonds.
Herbaceous at first, with hints of angelica and thyme. Soon enough, red apple and vanilla sweetness take over.
