This is a Cask Strength Collection bottling of Glen Elgin single malt, drawn from a pair of bourbon barrels. The barrels were filled in November 1990 and cracked open in October 2016, producing 295 bottles of scrumptious Speyside whisky.
Caramel-coated bananas, oatcakes, floral malt and some ginger.
Alpine herbs, with a fresh twist of mint. Soon enough, waves of caramel and apricot come along.
Ginger sticks around on the finish for minutes afterwards.
