Glen Elgin 12 Year Old 2009 (cask 15273) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Single cask single malt distilled by Glen Elgin, independently bottled by Douglas Laing for the excellent Old Particular range. It was distilled expertly by Glen Elgin back in March 2009 and allowed to age in a refill hogshead for a dozen years, until it was bottled in September 2021 with an outturn of 353 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Candied ginger and dried peels, with hints of buttered bread underneath.
Palate
Vanilla, cassia, black pepper, toasted brown sugar atop flaky pastry.
Finish
Malt loaf, a smidge of tobacco, and more vanilla.
