Girvan 28 Year Old 1989 (cask 12544) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Single grain Scotch whisky from the Girvan distillery, bottled for the Old Particular range by those wonderful folks from Douglas Laing. This is a 28 year old expression, matured in a refill hogshead from December 1989 until May 2018, when it was bottled at 51.5% ABV. 255 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Bourbon, vanilla pod, lemon rind and a heaped spoonful of brown sugar.
Palate
Toasty oak spices begin to take shape on the palate, kept in check by sweet, milky coffee.
Finish
Soft orchard fruit and toasted grain.
