Garnheath 44 Year Old 1974 (cask 12779) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Single grain from the sadly closed Garnheath distillery, independently bottled by Douglas Laing for the Xtra Old Particular range. This one was distilled in February 1974 and aged in a refill barrel for 44 years, before being bottled in August 2018 with an outturn of 152 bottles.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

Strawberry cheesecake on the nose with creamy caramel, loads of vanilla and tangy fruit salad. The palate shows buttery croissants, raspberry jam, icing sugar and a subtle but very moreish spiced quality, while vanilla’d oak lingers on the finish alongside ginger beer, candy floss and ripe bananas.
