Though the Garnheath distillery may be closed, indie bottlers like Douglas Laing sometimes get their hands on the single grain Scotch whiskies produced there long ago - always an exciting prospect! This one was distilled by Garnheath in February 1974 and bottled in March 2018. Just 141 bottles were drawn from the single refill barrel.
The nose is bursting with fresh vanilla pods, strawberry bon-bons and brioche. The palate is sugary sweet and thick with wood shavings, peaches in syrup and charred bananas, and the lingering finish shows creamy vanilla, apricot, toasted almonds and strawberry jam.
