A very rare bottling of single grain Scotch whisky from the Garnheath distillery, which was sadly shut back in 1988. This was distilled in February 1974, matured in a single barrel for 42 years and then bottled in February 2016 by Douglas Laing as part of their fabulous Xtra Old Particular range. 162 bottles were produced.
Nose: Sugary milk chocolate, butterscotch, a touch of barrel char spice.
Palate: Oodles of runny caramel and golden syrup, with a light hint of fresh vanilla pod.
Finish: Long and mellow with chocolate and a slight whisper of anise.
