A handsome, smartly packaged Fettercairn. Fior is Gaelic for "true", and the whisky has an astonishingly rich flavour of cocoa, espresso, spices, fruit and almond. We love it. It was released in Summer 2010 as part of the distillery's rebranding process, which is positioning them into the premium market.

Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! I absolutely adore this whisky, it really is one of a kind! The only problem is, is getting hold of a bottle.
Warm notes, great mouthfeel and a a lot of character. A stronger brother, at say 45% or so, could perhaps be even better.
It was quite a surprise. Very rich and complex, strongly bitter-sweet with very low notes and very high. A bit like an alcoholic chocolate caramel orange with pepper. I would say that it's not to be consumed in large quantities because it would overpower the taste buds and it doesn't have a strong enough finish to carry it through. It's all up front. I bought it by accident from a shop that was closing down in the North of England and it probably cost me £20. I don't think I'd pay £45 for another, though.
Keep giving Fettertcairn a chance but every version reminds me of why I'm silly to try another. Tasteless , horrid alcohol burn for a low ABV and burn't tyres isn't in my list top flavour . Bad bottle ? Maybe . Given it 3 chances and still the same.
Not nice at all. First glass was like drinking TCP. I decanted the bottle then a few days later the second glass tasted like TCP. After a while I started to get some sweet and spicy notes but all in the veign of Secondary School antiseptic.
