Hunter Laing has gone and bottled up another fabulous Fettercairn! This particular expression was distilled back in May 1997, and left to mature in a single refill hogshead for a couple of decades. When the Highlander turned 22 years old, it was bottled in September 2019 for the Old Malt Cask series, with a release of 247 bottles at 50% ABV.
Nose: Grassy petrichor aromas, with Lotus biscuits and vanilla oak.
Palate: Salted dark chocolate, chai latte and caramel, with dried berries and fresh mint.
Finish: Drying oak spice, with a touch of earthy herb.
