A fab Fettercairn, distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2019 by North Star Spirits after it spent 12 years maturing in a refill hogshead. This expression had an outturn of 180 bottles at a rather warming 57.4% ABV.
Strawberries sprinkled with sugar and sweet strawberry jam notes too, with slightly drier black tea and tart fresh berries.
Rather gentle on the palate with tannic Bobal grapes, ginger spice, jammy dark fruits and sweet malty notes.
Fruity berry sweetness continues with an undertone of malt and barley sugar, with a somewhat funky note.
