Dry Fly 4 Year Old Triticale French Oak Finish (La Maison du Whisky 60th Anniversary)
A special release of just 720 bottles of Dry Fly Distilling's triticale whiskey. Triticale is a rye-wheat hybrid grain, and no, we still can't think about it without thinking of quadrotriticale and tribbles taking over the Enterprise. Originally released as part of LMDW's 60th anniversary celebrations, this whiskey from Spokane, Washington has been matured for 4 years including a finishing period in French oak barriques that previously held Cognac.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
The rye-like elements work well with the fruity, peppery contribution of the French oak.
Palate
The part that's most reminiscent of the regular Dry Fly Triticale release, with vanilla, ginger and dried fruit.
Finish
Fruit salad, cereal, cedar and a touch of blackcurrant.
