Matured in a Sherry Butt for a barely believable 45 years, this whisky from Glenfarclas is absolutely belting value for money. Only 212 bottles were yielded from the cask.

This. Is. Amazing. Wow. Supple, powerful, beautiful. Perfectly balanced. It is very reminiscent of the Glenfarclas 40, but even a little richer and more mature. You can nose it for hours, and is sweet on the palate. And to boot, you get a gorgeous rustic real wood box. I won't bother offering my tasting notes, I'll let Fred Laing's notes speak for me because they're spot on: "Opens warming and richly spiced on the nose, running to toffee and a caramelized, spiced orange character before a soft leather quality appears. The palate is rich and mouth coating and the orange style returns - now and it's sweet & spicy liquor style - before running dryer. Walnuts and chewed leather run on the long and dry finish - think of extra rich dark chocolate."
