Orkney 13yo #14529 Bottling Note

From Douglas Laing's Clan Denny Chronicles range comes a single malt from... Probably Orkney's Finest Distillery! No hints as to which Orkney distillery it was, mind. This one was distilled in 2007 and matured in a refill hogshead for 13 years, and then bottled up at cask strength in 2020 with an outturn of 371 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Orange peels, salted butter, wafts of earthy smoke sneaking in later on.

Palate: Caramelised nuts, salted chocolate, peat, and a hint of sea air.

Finish: Punchy peaty smoke and a simmering spiciness.
