An intriguing blended malt bottling from Douglas Laing, marrying whiskies from Islay and Speyside. A somewhat unlikely pairing of Bowmore and Craigellachie, although this delicious whisky is proof that opposites really do attract!
Maritime aromas alongside salty cured meat, charcoal and lime peel.
Honey and smoke intertwine, alongside burnt sugar, more charcoal and dark jammy berries.
Lengthy, fresh hay, vanilla and lemon.

Been tasting this on and off for 2 weeks now and it is get better and better over time. I am no whisky expert but the oak depth I guess the Bowmore, smoke and prolonged crisp clean finish makes this whisky feel much older than 10y. This is a bargain combo at £49 compared to some 21y and 23y plus £150 bottles i have tried. I am now looking to source other double barrels combos from DL this range.
