21 year old Bowmore single malt, distilled on the isle of Islay back in March 1997. After maturing in a single refill hogshead until June 2018, it was bottled by Douglas Laing for the Xtra Old Particular range, producing only 317 bottles.
The nose is archetypal Bowmore - slightly peppered with brown sugar, a salty tang and gentle smoke. The palate reveals cured meats with toasted brioche, orange rind and creamy cereal. The long finish has a warming earthiness, peated barley and honeycomb.
