Description

An intriguing expression from Dewar's – this classic 8 year old blended Scotch is finished in Ilegal Mezcal casks! The two spirits collide in a beautifully eccentric fashion combining sweet malty flavour with warming smoky pepper.

Nose

Vegetal notes with malted barley, soft smoke, sweet agave, honey and dried heather.

Palate

Sweet honey and caramel, cooked green vegetables and peppers, with warming heat.

Finish

Lingering peppery spice with herbaceous funk and sweet oaken malt.

Reviews for Dewar's 8 Year Old Ilegal Smooth

Refreshingly robust for a daily sipper.

The aguave and malt seem to enjoy each other's company with a smooth marrying of caramel, and vanilla core tastes and amplification of the smoky herbaceous spicy and peppery notes common between the two.
