Deanston Virgin Oak is made with young whisky which has been finished in brand new oak casks from Kentucky. Always a pleasure to have Deanston single malt Scotch whisky around, as they are certified by the Organic Food Association and power their distillery using hydro energy, so you can always feel good about the delicious dram in your hand.
Fresh citrus, honeyed barley and a subtle hint of smoke.
Toffee sweets pop up first, followed by a dollop of cream and oak notes.
Oak spices on the finish.
Well made, the new oak doesn't take over the whisky at all, which is always a risk with these casks.

Yes I admit it I drink it all day long because it is good and it is affordable.
Never heard of Deanston. For a young whisky it is very well balanced.
Delicious surprise, for the price you cannot beat the quality.
Being more a peat- or sea- or earth-flavoured whisky lover, I really loved this Deanston Virgin oak, at first sip: a balance between citrus, honey, vanilla and oak; it is smooth AND has a lot of character. I have been on Deanston's website: their history and values show love, professionalism and humanity that you can feel in their whisky. I'm going to buy more of it, and offer to those I love :-) !
Cannot beat the price for a well balanced young whisky. Anybody know how long they age it for?
