This single malt Scotch whisky from Highland distillery Deanston joins indie bottler Brave New Spirits' collection of funky finishes and maturations. Distilled in September 2009, it spent 11 years mellowing in a first-fill merlot wine barrique before being bottled at 54.8% in May 2021. A fantastic spin on the Highland style for the adventurous whisky aficionados amongst you.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Soft forest fruits mingle with crème brûlée, warm chocolate, and gentle spices.
Palate
Spiced poached prunes, cocoa nibs, crumbly shortbread, warm oak, and peppery spice.
Finish
Lingering chocolate and dried sour cherries, with a pleasant amount of oak.
