Bourbon
13 year old single malt from Dailuaine, distilled in 2008 and matured in a pair of bourbon barrels until bottling in 2021. Released by Signatory, this is a fabulous addition to its indie Un-Chillfiltered Collection.
Toast and marmalade, vanilla custard, and nutty toasted malt.
Seeded rye bread with honey, spiced currant buns, and caramelised bananas with vanilla ice cream.
Nut oil and green oak spice, lemon drizzle cake, and a touch of garden herbs.
My first Signatory and I happened upon a good one too! This is delightful stuff. No harsh neck pour or requirement to air out. This is smooth as silk right out of the bottle. A fresh green nose greets you just like Linkwood 12. The Palate has oil, vanilla and a hint of oak spice. No sherry influence here, just good Bourbon cask maturation. The finish is pure plum jam and marmalade. If this sounds up your street grab a bottle because its a steal at under £40.
