Dailuaine 12 Year Old 1999 - Old Malt Cask (Douglas Laing)
This twelve year old Dailuaine was bottled by Douglas Laing for the 20cl range of their Old Malt Cask brand. These are known as the 'Advance Samples' and are designed to replicate the sample bottles the Laing brothers are sent to try when selecting the casks they may later bottle.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Christmas cake and winter spice rise off the surface of the whisky with a little maraschino cherry.
Palate
Big and fruity with some cinnamon and nutmeg to taste.
Finish
The finish is reasonably long with pleasing notes of Christmas pudding.
Overall
This Dailuaine has taken well to sherry cask ageing, big Christmas fruity and spicy flavours.
