Dailuaine 10 Year Old 2008 (cask 12541) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Dailuaine 10yo #12541 Bottling Note

A single cask sherried Dailuaine, independently bottled by the fabulous Douglas Laing. This single malt Scotch whisky was distilled in July 2008 and left to mature in a refill sherry butt for 10 years, before it was bottled in July 2018 without additional colouring or chill-filtration at 48.4% ABV for the Old Particular range.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Thick sherried sweetness from flamed orange peel, caramelised dates and bright red fruits are tempered by soft oak spices.

Palate Toasted barley, Christmas cake and jammy dark fruits emerge with touches of vanilla essence and mocha.

Finish Blueberry pancakes with a generous helping of maple syrup.

Reviews for Dailuaine 10 Year Old 2008 (cask 12541) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
EXCELLENT
I disagree with the earlier review. This is obviously a heavily sherry butt matured single cask single malt and it is worth every penny. This whisky has a real rich sherry sweetness. There is a oak spice to it with cocoa, coffee, Christmas cake and red forest fruits. It is elegant, refined and incredibly moreish.

Poor value?
I'm sorry but these prices on DL whiskies are simply not competitive anymore. Try half this price and we can talk...
