Connemara
This is a heavily peated and cask strength Connemara from the Cooley distiller. It is peated to over 50ppm and is big, punchy dram.
Absolutely amazing, slow smooth orgasm in the mouth, smoke, peat and lace, tasted many whiskeys over the years but this at cask strength is absolute class!
What a great surprise picking this up in Amsterdam. Strong peat flavor with a middle of chocolate....although they do t list it.
A wonderful peaty whiskey, a match for the best of Islay. But adding water seems to diminish its flavour. Its the only whisky I prefer neat. A shame it was a limited run as it is now very hard to obtain.
Managed to find a bottle of this in one of my local pubs. Fantastic dram. Soft sweet peaty nose transforms into an explosion of peat and zesty fruit on the taste. Would love more.
