Connemara is a peated single malt whisky made at the Cooley Distillery in County Louth Ireland. Unusually for an Irish whiskey, it is double rather than triple distilled. When it was first launched in 1999, it was the first smoky Irish whiskey to be produced for generations. It is currently available in a variety of expressions culminating in a 22-year-old bottling. Connemara and other brands associated with Cooley like The Tyrconnell have been owned by Beam Suntory since 2012.
