Single Malt
A 21 year old single malt from Clynelish, bottled for the Xtra Old Particular range by Douglas Laing. This one was matured from April 1997 to August 2018 in a refill hogshead, then bottled at cask strength with an outturn of 309 bottles.
The nose is buttery with sweet milky cereal developing to coconut cream and sugary shortbread. The thick and moreish palate shows malted barley, allspice, and warm pastry with stewed apples. The finish lingers nicely with hints of tangerine, poached pears and mint, then a creamy oak character.
