Carsebridge 50 Year Old 1965 (cask 11847) - The Sovereign (Hunter Laing)

Distilled in October 1965, this grain was bottled by Hunter Laing in October 2015. The outturn of the single refill hogshead in which this whisky spent half a century maturing was just 267 bottles at natural cask strength.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Classic grain on the nose with creamy, buttery vanilla and toffee with citrus in support.

Palate

More delicious vanilla goodness, green apple, cinnamon and nutty fudge.

Finish

Oak makes itself known on the long finish.

Overall

Well aged grain really is a treat, and this fine independent bottling from Hunter Laing is no exception.
