Carsebridge 45 Year Old 1965 - The Clan Denny (Douglas Laing)

Carsebridge was mothballed in 1983 then stripped of its parts in the 1990s, so what does this mean for this whisky? Well, it means we have a whisky that will never be produced again and will slowly but surely disappear never to be seen again. Thought provoking stuff indeed thankfully we have some forty-five year old Carsebridge from a single cask for you to enjoy right here.

Carsebridge is a grain whisky and grain is becoming more and more popular as people become canny to its amazing value for money. By the nature of grain whisky it requires a lot longer in cask than malt whisky to make it palatable hence why they are usually bottled in excess of twenty years old, however they are also a lot cheaper to make - long story short you get old whisky at a better price!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Heaps of vanilla, rye heavy Bourbon and lime gently off-set with warm spices.

    Palate

On the palate the Carsebridge offers satsumas, lemon and seville orange. In time this becomes candied peel and vanilla.

    Finish

The finish is silky and warming with cinnamon, ginger and orange zest.

    Overall

Loads of soft flavours slowly emerge as you drink this, the mouthfeel is creamy and soft, everything you could want from a whisky of this age and value.
