Carsebridge 40 Year Old 1976 (cask 12024) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
An indie bottling of 40 year old Carsebridge single grain - it could only be from Douglas Laing's incredible Xtra Old Particular range! This whisky was distilled back in October 1976 and bottled in September 2017 (long after Carsebridge sadly shut its doors for the final time), with an outturn of just 215 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Thick with maple syrup and milky coffee, joined by vibrant touches of ginger biscuits and candied pineapple.
Palate
Rounded notes of fresh vanilla, apricot and orange peel. Buttered malt loaf and basil also make an appearance.
Finish
Nutmeg, ginger again, strawberries and cream sweeties.
