A single cask bottling of 33 year old Carsebridge single grain Scotch whisky, aged in a single refill hogshead (which, evidently, imparted a wealth of colour as well as flavour to this whisky). It was distilled in December 1982 and bottled in September 2016 by Douglas Laing for their Old Particular range, with 253 bottles produced. Yummy rare whisky from a long-closed distillery (in fact, this was distilled in the year before Carsebridge shut its doors!).
Burnt sugar, caramel, melon, lime and chewy raisins.
Lots of vanilla and raisins, with rich notes of chocolate-covered cherries hiding beneath it.
Dark chocolate and golden syrup. A touch of dried fruit lingers for ages.
