Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jun 2010
1 May 2019

This single malt was brought into existence in the year 2010 at the Caol Ila distillery. The Islay whisky was left to age in a single refill hogshead for the following eight years, until May 2019 when it was bottled at cask strength by the awesome Douglas Laing. It was released as part of the Old Particular Elements Collection. This smoky dram is the Earth edition, with only a limited 310 bottles available.
Coastal peat smoke, alongside earthy bonfire wood smoke and a dry sea breeze.
Earthier than the nose suggests, with young oak, smoky malt and a touch a barley sugar sweetness alongside the coastal salt.
Burnt wood, smoky bacon and more of the barley sugar lingering.

Deliciously Islay in style. Expect smoke, bonfire embers and peat. Love Douglas Laing and love Caol Ila. This makes a perfect combination.
