A cracking Caol Ila from indie bottler North Star Spirits' Cask Series 20. Distilled in 2014, the eight-year-old single malt was drawn from a Port octave in 2022. Expect plenty of jammy red fruit and meaty smoke here. A release of 220 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Hearty layers of peat smoke, earthen ash, and stewed berries, with roasted barley and hints of marmalade in tow.

Palate: Peppery oak and meaty smoke accompany redcurrant jelly, drying oak, and old leather, with bonfire embers crackling away in the depths.

Finish: Lingering peat and ash are bolstered by a balance of warming spice and vinous fruit.
