Another year and another excellent unpeated Caol Ila for the Diageo Special Releases – here we have the 2016 edition! This was the first of these unusual Islay malts distilled this millennium, filled into refill American oak hogsheads and refill European oak butts in 2000.

Very creamy with milk bottle sweets, subtle citrus and hints of butterscotch.
Warming and a little more toffee'd now with hedgerow greenery and fruit.
Milk chocolate and soft oak provide a clean finish.
