Cor blimey, 40 year old Cambus single grain! An extraordinary release of whisky from the closed distillery, presented as part of the Xtra Old Particular range by Douglas Laing. It was distilled in September 1976 and bottled in June 2017 at cask strength with just 169 bottles produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Earthy vanilla, brandied cherries, tinned peaches, mature oak.
Palate
Milky coffee with a dash of cinnamon thrown in for good measure. A hint of vanilla tablet and peppercorn.
Finish
Sponge cake covered in chocolate sauce and ice cream. Lingering clove heat.
