Cameronbridge 40 Year Old 1978 (cask 12430) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Very well-matured single grain here from the Cameronbridge distillery, independently bottled by Douglas Laing! This expression was distilled in January 1978 and matured in a single refill barrel for 40 years, before being bottled in March 2018 for the Xtra Old Particular range, 211 bottles were released.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

The nose is rich in hard candy and barley sugar, plus interesting spices. The palate is velvety as it coats the mouth with sugary butter, vanilla and milky coffee, and on the finish get more of that (macchiato) coffee, with chocolate, gentle oak and more sugar.
