Cambus 45 Year Old 1976 (cask 15622) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

We always welcome the high-value, full-flavour world of super-old single grain here at MoM Towers, so this well-matured, handsomely-presented Scotch whisky from Cambus is gratefully receieved. Distilled back in 1976, this beauty was matured in a refill hogshead before being bottled up by Douglas Laing for its Xtra Old Particular range at a cask strength 49.1% ABV. Super stuff.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Sweet spices prickle through hot custard, Conference pears, old oak, and cereal sweetness.

    Palate

Rhum and raisin ice-cream, black pepper, and white chocolate are joined by a medley of sweet orchard fruit.

    Finish

Long and creamy, like butterscotch poured over porridge oats.
