Hunter Laing
Scotland
An indie bottling of single grain from the closed Cambus distillery, matured in a refill hogshead for 29 years. This aforementioned cask was laid down in September 1988 and cracked open in April 2018, when the whisky was bottled by Hunter Laing for The Sovereign range. A release of 299 bottles.
Dried fruit, ginger and orange peel. Sponge cake with lots of icing.
Starts off spicy with cinnamon and nutmeg, but soon enough loads of toffee and chocolate notes arrive.
Fruity with waxy peels and honeydew melon.
