Cambus 27 Year Old 1988 (cask 12279) - The Sovereign (Hunter Laing)
27 year old single grain Scotch whisky from the Cambus distillery, drawn from a single cask. This was distilled in September 1988, around 5 years before the distillery was sadly closed. Refill cask #12279 aged the whisky until February 2016, when it was bottled by Hunter Laing with an outturn of 287 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Vanilla ice cream with a few spoonfuls of chocolate sauce. Light hints of strawberry and apple.
Palate
Fresh honey, caster sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a backbone of fruit salad.
Finish
Lingering melon and kumquat.
