A rare chance to taste the whisky of the closed Caledonian Distillery! This is a 44 year old single grain from Caledonian, distilled all the way back in April 1976 and allowed to age until April 2020. Just 218 bottles were produced for the Xtra Old Particular range, which is reserved for exciting bottlings like this.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Attractively spiced as it opens on the nose – running to molasses, muscovado sugar and cereal. Detect very similar robust tastes on the palate – dark spices in particular with a vanilla based finished, all wonderfully dulcet.
