A pretty special single grain whisky from the Caledonian distillery, which closed back in 1988 - just one year after this whisky was distilled! The Lowlander spent over three decades in a single hogshead, and when the 31 years had passed it was bottled by Signatory in May 2018 at 50.2% ABV for the Cask Strength Collection, in a release of 249 bottles.
Vanilla sponge cake, desiccated coconut drizzled with chocolate and a pinch of salt.
Dark caramel, dark chocolate praline, salted nuts and banoffee pie.
Treacle tart and vanilla custard.
A truly amazing whisky! Soft well rounded with a lovely sweet finish, smooth as smooth can be!
