Nose Heady layers of floral honey and bubbling caramel, burnt sugar, and in turn, candy floss and toasted vanilla marshmallows. There's buttery pastry too, before dense old oak and dried floral tea arrive. You can definitely pick up that cask strength too.
Palate A wave of silky butterscotch coats the palate, soon joined by woody spice and oak char tickling at the sides. Vanilla biscuits and syrupy flapjack follow, with candied ginger and nutmeg supporting all the while.
Finish Crème caramel lingers, with burnt sugar, a touch of orange zest, cookie crumbs, and mellow, chewy old oak. Peppery spice hangs around too, though it's kept in check by the treacly sweetness of it all.
