Burnt Ends Supercharged

Adding some extra chips to the smoker, and some extra coals on the barbecue, it's a Supercharged edition of Burnt Ends Blended Whiskey! Inspired by the charred, meaty deliciousness of the barbecued burnt ends that you'd find served up by the pitmasters of USA barbecue joints, this smoky, meaty blend is built upon a combo of American rye whiskey and peated, sherry-finished Islay single malt Scotch.

It doesn't stop there though, there's something extra in this secret marinade. Oh wait, it's not a secret at all, the splendidly smoky blend has been supercharged with a good glug of well-aged, peaty Highland malt, and a generous splash of quality bourbon, adding some extra smoke and a lip-smacking dose of buttery charred corn to the mix.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Smoky cured meat and burnt popcorn kernels, a drizzle of caramel, and hints of damp hay. Cider apples, a touch of frankfurter brine, with sweet layers of dulce de leche in the distance.

Palate Sweet and smoky, just like a good barbecue sauce. There are tangy, charred notes of tamarind and treacle, with damp oak and sawdust in tow. Herbaceous, meaty beer sticks follow, with buttered corn keeping a sweet touch.

Finish Charred peppercorns, sweetcorn, butterscotch, and charred herbs, with a tangle of vibrant peat smoke and oaken vanilla.

Reviews for Burnt Ends Supercharged Blended Whiskey
Bought because I enjoyed the original Burnt Ends
I’d have to drink the two side by side to try and tell the difference - not sure what I was expecting but, this is a very good drop. Super Smokey and sweet - it’s a sippin’ liquor but it goes down easy. I added a teaspoon of water to a splash and left it for a minute - really opened up the aromas.
