Description

Lord Macduff is represented by a remarkable 45-year-old Bunnahabhain from the Leads series of Livingstone’s Macbeth Collection. Distilled in 1975, the Islay single malt matured in a refill sherry butt before being bottled at 40.8% ABV. Only 100 bottles were produced.

Nose

Baked apple, ripe pear and barley sugar, with dried apricot, honey and polished oak. Gentle maritime notes and old wood emerge with time.

Palate

Soft orchard fruit and waxy citrus lead into dried peach, barley sugar and almond. Mature oak, gentle spice and a faint salty note provide structure.

Finish

Dried orchard fruit, honeyed malt, old oak and a subtle coastal salinity.
