Bunnahabhain 15 Year Old 2007 - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
This single malt was distilled at Bunnahabhain in 2007 and spent the next 15 years maturing in a single refill hogshead. The cask was opened by Douglas Laing, independently releasing a total of 286 bottles, layered with phenolic, maritime peat smoke, cough drops, and warming spice.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Coastal brine and tar join sweet peat smoke and gristy barley.
Palate
Slightly burnt toast, rich and phenolic smoke, aromatic notes of hickory, salted fudge.
Finish
Warm layers of spice, cough drops, snuffed candle, cocoa, and a touch of marmalade.
