Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old Cask Strength - 2021 Edition

A particularly full-flavoured single malt from Islay's brilliant Bunnahabhain, inspired by the tastings that visitors enjoy at the distillery's Warehouse 9. Within those glorious walls, whisky fans get to taste Bunnahabhain's excellent whisky right from the cask, and as such, this expression has been bottled up at cask strength! With lots of sherry notes at its heart, alongside warming oak and just a smidge of sea breeze, this single malt does a fantastic job of showing off why Bunnahabhain is so well-loved (in fact, it even won our very first Master of Malt Whisky Icon championship!)

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Flamed orange peel, redcurrant, cinnamon sticks, and mocha.

    Palate

Still quite chocolate, with raisin, sultana, and ginger in support. Hints of sea air, with toasted walnut too.

    Finish

Lasting oaky spices and a final hint of sherry.

Excellent smooth whisky, top value for money.

A fabulous whisky for the price, very smooth and full of favour…worthy of a higher price. I’ve subsequently bought a 2nd bottle even though I’ve not finished the first, just to put in the cupboard for future use.
