A marvellous single malt, distilled at a mysterious distillery! Hailing from the Islay region and boasting a classic peaty, maritime profile, this 11 year old expression spent its time in refill sherry butts, before finishing off in ex-Bordeaux red wine casks. After all the toil and trouble of opening the cask and bottling, the whisky was independently released as part of the Whisky of Voodoo series.
Smouldering bonfire smoke welcomes the way for jammy cherries and berries. Coastal breeze and dried fruits join, with oily oak in the distance.
Vinous red fruits and berry compote lead to rich dates and nutty oak. Gentle smoke floats throughout, with salted chocolate and a touch of meaty malt beneath.
Warming pepper builds on the finish, with a touch of brine and iodine, vegetal peat, and charcoal.
