Sherry
Distilled in 2014, this single malt from Royal Brackla spent the next eight years maturing in a single Pedro Ximénez sherry barrel. The cask was opened by North Star Spirits, independently releasing a total of 272 bottles.
Dark cherry chocolate, cookie dough, and cacao are joined by poached stone fruits, marzipan, and vanilla cream.
Rich, chocolatey malt brings notes of Digestive biscuits (chocolate ones, obviously), with sweet, nutty maple, creamy fudge, and praline.
Robust oak and warm cocoa linger, with a sprinkling of nutmeg and burnt ginger biscuits.

Some sulphur and spice on the nose and palate, but then once you’ve got past them you get heaps of chocolate. Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and Cherry Liquor. A good finish with cherry and chocolate notes that just keep lingering. For the price you can’t go, it’s not a show stopping but worth the price.
