A young, rather gentle Bowmore. Whilst not massively complex or full-bodied, Legend is still a great value for money malt.
Gentle peat smoke, a little barley, touch of the coast.
Gentle, a one dimensional malt with a vibrant youthfulness, lots of pep, but not too much in the way of complexity. But if you like younger, sweeter Bowmore then you'll enjoy this.
Good malty sweetness, maritime, a touch of pine.

The bad news is it lacks deep complexity often sought but some. But it is only 8 years old.The good news is that the elements of an Islay whisky are there: the peat, a hint of smoke and citrus. I agree with another reviewer that people need to understand what to expect from the different regions. I would start someone new to Islay with a Bowmore as all the elements are there. It is brilliant value. Remember there is no such thing as a bad whisky, only personal preferences. To compare ANY Islay drop with petrol says more about the reviewer than the whisky.
this is a nice single malt for the price. it has a nice peaty smoke taste and although it is not as complex as an older malt it has a nice finish. a little ice makes it a bit smoother but I would say for the price it's a sold but. spreyside 12 I would say is a bit better and about the same price.
A bit bland but really tasty. Really good value for money.
I've tasted many a' premium scotch, this one is my favorite. It has a complex delicious flavor that goes down easy. I was struck by how much it stood out. Tastes of smoke and the ocean, and quite peaty as well. It's delicious pungency is not for the everyone.
I have some Laphroaig Ciardeas and it was a bit too peaty for me. I was looking for the other end of the scale and found the Bowmore Legend for $30 and it was just what I was looking for. Light peat, not medicine-y, very drinkable. I'm not one to be able to talk about complexity since I am relatively new to Scotch, but I would definitely recommend this to someone trying to see what peat-ed whisky was like. If it is not for you, you are only out $30. I've spent a lot more on whisky that was not to my pallet.
