Blair Athol 13 Year Old 2011 (cask 1) - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory)
A rich and characterful Highland dram from Blair Athol, this 13-year-old single malt was drawn from a single first-fill ruby Port hogshead. Bottled at full cask strength with no chill-filtration or colouring, this release delivers intense flavour and excellent value in equal measure.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Red berries, jammy plums, and cherry syrup lead the way, backed by red liquorice, rose petals, and a trace of dusty cocoa.
Palate
Raspberry coulis, fig roll, mulled wine spice, and a touch of almond nougat. A waxy maltiness threads it all together.
Finish
Port-soaked fruit, dark spice, and a touch of ruby chocolate and wood smoke.
